Joy! Crafts Christmas Tree Card by Shaz G

*Just a word of explanation about the Nellie Snellen Multi frame dies - these dies in the multi frame series are amazingly versatile! You can decide how many or how few of the pieces of the multi frame die you use. You can end up with very different results. I have made four cards to show the difference. This card is the first in the series over next few months. For this card I just used the two dies on the left as shown below.

Instructions

1. Chose a suitable greeting, stamp it on white card in black pigment ink and emboss with clear embossing powder and a heat gun.

2.Take the inside stitching square die of the **Nellie Snellen Multi Frame Dies and cut out the square of verse using the Big Shot.

3. Emboss a folded A6 piece of white card using the Craft Concepts Embossing Folder - More Dots by running through the Big Shot machine.

4. Using the Big Shot, cut out the large square stitching die in red card. Next take the Joy Christmas Tree Border Embossing Die and cut it out in a matching red card. Use a tan embossing mat to emboss the lovely scroll pattern inside the border, before removing from die. You don't need to use the tan mat on the Nellie Snellen die, but you do on the tree border.

HINT: When cutting out with fiddly smaller dies (like alphabet or border dies) apply double sided tape to the back of the card before cutting out the die, then it is all ready to attach on the main card hassle free! The pieces will need a little more help to come out of the die but it cuts through the tape okay, just remove the backing tape to place the cut-out die piece.

5. Assemble card - add the tree border to the right side of the spotted white card. Then add the greeting to the red square scallop and use mounting tape to adhere the scalloped greeting to the spotted white card; attach this to the red background card then to the white pre-cut card.

Shaz, I've just re-read your tip about placing double sided tape on the back of your card before die-cutting - what a great tip! I'll be trying this for sure!
