Tea Bag Lacé Die Card - Tutorial

Shaz G

1. Take eight of the small pretty Peony Teabag Folding Paper and carefully cut out eight squares. Fold the squares in the traditional star pattern. Go here for the folding instructions.

2. Cut Lacé Classic Rozette Die using white cardstock by running through a Big Shot or Cuttlebug, and then run the cut-out through the machine again to emboss, this time using a tan embossing mat. Fold back the cut scallops to make a spiral around the outside.

3. Mount the folded teabag in the centre of this spiral with 1mm mounting tape.

4. Cut an A6 size pink paper from the Papermania Henbury Lane A4 Paper Pack ( a delicious pack of 24 papers, some are tastefully glittery). Emboss with the Trendy Braid embossing folder and slightly distress the surface to make the pattern pop.

5. Add the embossed paper to the white cardstock and then add  the spiral lace die with the teabag on top. Attach lace from Kaisercraft white lace pack to the bottom of the card as shown above.

6. Using Peel-Off  Happy Birthday #300 sticker  and flower - these were silver but I wanted to highlight the purple tones in the teabag, so I coloured them with permanent markers - it must be a permanent marker on peel-offs and bling, as most others dont work. Take a red and blue permanent marker- red and blue make purple - and colour the greeting while still on the sticker sheet first in red and then over the top of the red with blue. Peel off the outline of the flower (the positive) and position it on the card. Colour the remaining petals (the negatives) on the sticker sheet red and blue as above. The colour looks a very shimmery purple with highlights of red and blue and it is very pretty.

TIP: Use the pricking tool to handle the peel-offs by laying the peel-off up the stem of the tool to support it while placing it on the card.

7. Lift and place the bling - I used three clear ones - onto the waxed backing sheet of the peel-off to colour and colour them red and blue in the same way as the sticker above.

8. Pick up each coloured petal with a pricking tool or tweezers and place inside the flower outline on the card. Pick up the greeting with a pricking tool and position it on the card.

9. Add the coloured bling to the bottom of the lace strip.

Congratulations your card is completed.
