Marianne Design Creatables Flower Card - Vicky Pedlow

Photo One

** Please read through instructions before commencing **

1. Trim a piece of white shimmer card to 260mm x 130mm using a paper trimmer, score and fold in half to make a 130mm square card. I find using a bone folder helps to make a neat crease.

2. Trim a piece of mint green card to 120mm x 120mm and adhere this to the white base card using double-sided tape as shown in photo one.

3. Use a die-cutting machine and the Spellbinders Nestabilities Standard Circles Large Die Set to die-cut two circles - one of out white shimmer card and one out of mint green ColorCore chalk card as shown in photo two. I used the second and third smallest dies in the set.

4.  Distress the edges of both circles using a paper distresser. Ink the edges of the white circle with pale pink ink and set aside to dry. Use a Sand It Gadget to gently sand away some of the chalk from the surface of the green circle to reveal more of the pretty mint colour underneath.

5.  Place a sentiment of your choice onto the white circle. I used 'thinking of you' from the peel-off sticker sheet Various Wishes 343. It helps to use a craft knife to carefully lift the sticker from the backing sheet and position it onto the circle. Mount the white circle onto the green circle using foam squares then adhere both to the top right hand corner of the card using double-sided tape. Refer photo one for placement.

6.  Use a die-cutting machine and the Marianne Design Creatables Stencil Flower XL LRO129 set to die-cut the flower from the pale pink ColorCore chalk card and the blossom Papicolor card. I used the largest and smallest dies to cut the chalk card and the middle-sized die to cut the blossom card.

7.  As per step four, use a Sand It Gadget to gently sand away some of the chalk from the surface of the large and small pink petals to reveal more of the pretty pink colour underneath.

8.  Assemble your flower using a pearl brad to secure it in the centre.

9.  Now die-cut three leaves using the leaf die from the same die set out of white shimmer card. Ink the edges of the leaves with pale pink ink and set aside to dry.

10.  Place your leaves onto a piece of clean scrap paper and use a fine point glue pen to trace the embossed areas on the leaves. Sprinkle each leaf liberally with white glitter, shake off the excess glitter onto the scrap paper and return to the pot. Set the leaves aside for a couple of minutes to dry.

11.  Adhere the three leaves to the card using double-sided tape and foam mount the flower in the centre of the leaves as shown in photo three.

12.  Die cut a fancy flourish out of blossom card. Use sticky dots to adhere the flourish to the bottom right corner of the card as shown in photo four.

13.  Add three small self-adhesive pearls to the flourish and three more to the bottom left corner of the card as shown below.
Your card is now complete.
